Hoofgroove is EasyCare’s September dealer of the month. Located in Zurich, Switzerland, they have been in business for nearly nine years. The journey began when a friend brought owner Sibylle Krieg a pair of Old Mac’s from the US. “It was the first boot that didn’t get lost during a ride!” says Krieg. It was then that she applied to become a distributor in Switzerland. “This was my start into the interesting world of the hoof boot business.”
Hoofgroove has been carrying the Old Mac’s product line for nine years and the Easyboot product line for three. They now offer the whole range of EasyCare hoof boots including the newly released Easyboot Glove, Easyboot Glue On, Easyboot Rx and Easyboot Edge. While the Old Mac’s G2 is still Sibylle’s best seller she says, “I am sure that this will change in the future, since the Easyboot Edge is the absolute runner up to it. My personal favorites are: Easyboot Edge, Glove, Grip and Old Mac’s G2.”
Hoofgroove takes care of a lot of customers and their horses and also supports many trimmers. Their customer base grows every day, so the Hoofgroove team prioritizes educating themselves to better help their customers. In January, EasyCare Owner and President Garrett Ford took some time for a quick visit with Hoofgroove. During the visit they spent several hours doing boot fitting demos and business discussions. Deciding on hoof care and hoof boot use can be a rather intimidating experience, and Hoofgroove takes that into consideration when working with their customers. They adjust to each new customer they encounter – taking into account the owner’s requests, answering all questions when counseling and adjusting the boot, and giving the customer the big picture on the subject so that he or she gains security and understanding. “I believe the barefoot movement will clearly advance and become more and more important, since people question and challenge everything a lot more,” says Sibylle.
When asked to what she attributes her success, Sibylle says, “the secret of my success lies in my wide knowledge of all the boots on the market, and being a user of the hoof boots for nearly 20 years now and testing them all. It gave my experience a lot of depth. In addition to that, I work closely with hoof care practitioners and veterinarians, exchanging opinions and experiences.”
“Success is rarely a question of the goal but of dedication!” Sibylle says.
