Manu Volk and Gharim, enjoying the Easyboot Glove

Manu Volk is a very enthusiastic Team Easyboot member that has used hoof boots for more than twelve years. She’s been a hoof care practitioner since 2005 (in Germany it is called a “Hoof Technician.”) She’s qualified to work with plastic and aluminum fittings (shoes) and Glue-Ons. Since 2007 all of her client’s horses have been barefoot and most of them wear hoof boots.

Says Manu, “One year ago I started to become more interested in natural hoof care. Pete Ramey has inspired me (and for me he is one of the best hoof experts and teachers in the world), and also Gene Ovinek with his Natural Balance Trim, Dr. Robert Bowker and Dr. Barbara Page.
To be a hoof care practitioner is for me not only a job – it’s my appointment!” Manu gives trimming and booting clinics to both professionals and amateur barefoot enthusiasts.

She grew up with horses (half Arabians) and I always dreamed of having an Arabian horse like the stallion she admired — El Shaklan. Then Gharim Shaklan, a son of El Shaklan entered her stable and her life. Manu says she spends a lot of time with Gharim and rides five to seven times at week for two to three hours (sometimes more). She says, “We lack the ambition for Endurance or for other events. For me there is no preferred style of riding – my aim is to help Gharim with body awareness and balance and help him to move in a perfect and sound way. Gharim has been barefoot for 2 1/2 years. In the past I have fitted him with aluminum or plastic fittings (shoes) in the summer. In winter he was always barefoot and we’d ride with boots.

Gharim has changed my life and helped me to be myself. He is one of the best things in my life! We ride with the “Torsion”, a treeless saddle from Italy, and without a bit. The Torsion gives me a great feeling for my horse. The EasyBoot Glove completes the picture. For me it’s a hoof boot capsule for the hoof capsule – for a natural movement. Now we can fly without wings! Gharim is ten years old (he has been with me since the age of six months). In the last six weeks he looks wonderful – WOW!! He has changed – never has he had such sound hooves and he has a perfect movement! Never has he looked so good! Thank you, Pete Ramey and EasyCare, for this.”
